Frustrating for Bird and Owner! While this newly designed version of the foraging wheel is much easier to fill with seed and hook in the cage, it has a significant learning curve with assembly and can only use certain types of seed. If you over fill the sections with seed or use small seed, the seed gets trapped between the parts of the wheel that turn and are fixed, jamming the mechanism. This causes my parrot to scream and bang the toy. No fun at all. Also, when my parrot shucks the seeds, the debris also gets caught in the parts that turn, jamming the mechanism. I always have to take the toy apart and clean it at least once during each use. I use a parrot safflower mix. I may try straight sunflower to see if that will prevent the wheel from jamming so it won’t move. All in all, a great idea, but definitely needs more design work.

Got my B&G Macaw (Big Baby) one of these. The picture showes a macaw using one. Filed it up with some almonds, peanuts and dried fruit. It lasted about 1 minute before she had it riped off the side of the cage. I did manage to find a way to fasen it to a cage (Rebar tie wire is a fix all) but it is now in the Sun Conures cage. Frank
